Department Origins

The Department of Czech for Foreigners was established in 1993 on the basis of the 25 years of experience that Masaryk University's Faculty of Arts had gathered up till then through its Summer School of Slavonic Studies. Given that interest in Czech studies was burgeoning, the Department came up with some new types of course in addition to the month-long one.

The Department of Czech for Foreigners offers these studies

Czech Language Courses for Foreigners (short-period and long-period)
Summer School of Slavonic (Czech) Studies (a month-long intensive Czech language course)
Bachelor‘s Degree Studies of Czech for Foreigners
"Czech Studies"
Didactic and Practical Course
Two-week Intensive Course of Czech – February 2011
