All applicants for courses of Czech for foreigners have to file an application form directly to Department of Czech for foreigners (by fax or mail). (An application form is available for each course at the end of the page.)
The applicants for courses of Czech for foreigners are allowed to register for our Czech courses in the IS after they get an acknowledgment of acceptance for the study at the Department of Czech for foreigners and when they pass an entrance test.
A six-month special Czech language course for foreigners including a rich programme of lectures on various aspects of Czech society and culture. The course will be opened for a minimum of five students in the winter semester of the academic year only.
Eight academic hours teaching of Czech practical language skills per week + eight academic hours of special lessons and lectures on selected topics per week.
Two academic hours of screening of Czech films (documentaries or movies) per week.
One semester (1 semester = 13 weeks).
The course will end with a final test in practical Czech language skills in line with the relevant level, on the basis of which certification of the results and of course attendance will be provided.
The course aims to acquaint students not only with the Czech language, but also with other subjects (in the form of lectures) which can be studied at the Faculty of Arts. It also aims to offer a cultural historic map of the Czech Republic.
The lectures will be given by professors from the Faculty of Arts and the practical Czech language skills will be taught by senior and assistant lecturers.
