Czech language for foreigners (language preparation)

In Masters and Doctoral program at Masaryk University.

Academic year 2011 – 2012

 
Autumn semester: September – December (13 teaching weeks)
 
1st– 13th teaching week 8 – 12 teaching hours / week = Master degree program
1st – 13th teaching week 8 – 15 teaching hours / week = Doctoral degree program
 
 
Spring semester: February – May (15 teaching weeks)
 
1st – 2nd teaching week Intensive course – 5 teaching hours / day
3rd- 15th teaching week 8 – 12 teaching hours / week = Master degree program
3rd – 15th teaching week 8 – 15 teaching hours / week = Doctoral degree program

Durig both semesters students will pass particular examinations. In the end of the whole program (Spring semester 2011/2012) students are to pass written and oral examinations.

Beginners I and II Basic course of Czech language (grammar and conversation) + phonetics
Pre-intermediate I - III grammar + conversation + phonetics

Upper-Intermediate I – V grammar + conversation + phonetics + ortography + Czech life and institutions + creative writing+ lexical exercises

Program of teaching

At the beginning of the autumn semester entrance test will have to be taken. According to the results of his/her entrance test, knowledge of Czech language will be specified.

Students Z1 - VP (beginner I-II, pre-intermediate I-III, intermediate I-V, upper-intermediate I-V) will be placed into particular courses at Department of Czech language for Foreigners.

Ending of particular semesters

After finishing the second (spring) semester students are supposed to pass final exams in particular parts of their studying subject (see Abstract of courses). His/her knowledge is classified according to the ECTS degree scale /A, B, C, D, E, F/ and active attendance in the course + examination classified with ECTS credits. If students do not pass in one regular and two other reparative examinations, he/she will not be given credits.
