Études romanes de Brno (ERB) is an open, peer reviewed international journal publishing articles from the fields of Romance languages and literatures.
Starting from 2009, two issues are published annually.
The journal, founded in 1965, is dedicated to publishing high quality contributions by scholars from both the Czech Republic and abroad. ERB is recognized as a category “C” international journal within the classification of the European Reference Index for the Humanities (ERIH) list published in 2007 by the European Science Foundation (www.esf.org). It is the only journal in the field of Romance languages and literatures in the Czech Republic included in this list.

Études romanes de Brno publishes:
  • articles (original, unpublished, in French, Spanish, Italian and Portuguese)
  • reviews (of scholarly monographs and other publications)
 
Articles are reviewed anonymously by two experts and the Editorial Board of the Études romanes de Brno takes their judgments into account. The Editorial Board will inform authors about reviewing process results as soon as possible. The final decision on publication of all texts depends on the Editorial Board of the Études romanes de Brno.

Submissions can be made at any time.
Monothematic issues – as advertised by issue editors.

Journal name and series information:

  • The journal was founded in 1965 under the title of Études romanes de Brno (abbreviated as ERB) and until 1977 it was published within university monograph series Spisy Univerzity J. E. Purkyně, Filozofická fakulta (Opera Universitatis Purkynianae Brunensis, Facultas philosophica) (numbers 1 till 9).
  • From 1979 until 2008 the journal was published within the “L” series of SPFFBU (“romanistická řada/series romanica”); e.g. the 1979 volume was identified as SPFFBU L 1 = ERB 10.
  • Since 2009, the journal has been published again under the only title Études romanes de Brno, but it follows numbers of SPFFBU, L series.
