Theatralia is a peer-reviewed scholarly journal, which follows on the previous Sborník prací Filozofické fakulty brněnské univerzity (SPFFBU), published since 1998.

Theatralia as a journal registered by the Ministry of Culture under the number E 18717 has been published twice a year since 2009 and is issued in collaboration with the Department of Theatre, Film and Media Studies, Faculty of Arts, Palacký University, Olomouc.

The aim of the journal is to map theatre in its varied language and generic forms regardless of time and territory. The journal consists of scholarly articles, reviews and published archival materials of all kinds. It welcomes contributions by specialists from other institutions and also publishes articles based on outstanding student theses.

Conditions for Accepting Manuscripts

Manuscripts can be submitted in Czech, Slovak, English or German. Articles on disc/CD-ROM may be in Word format (suffix *.rtf) Texts can be sent to the journal by e-mail (theatralia (at) seznam.cz). Articles should not exceed 15 pages including notes; reviews, reports and information should be 2 pages. An abstract and key words (10-15 lines) are also required. The journal retains the right to make linguistic corrections. Authors have the possibility to make stylistic or other changes before publication.

Conditions for Publishing Contributions

Theatralia is a reviewed scientific journal. All contributions must therefore have formal and professional criteria. Manuscripts are reviewed by experts. On the basis of this independent review, the Editorial Board of the Theatralia decides if and when to publish the article. The journal will inform the author of reviewers‘ judgements as soon as possible. The final decision on publication lies with the Editor of Theatralia. Manuscripts are not returned.
