The Conference Venue

 


Registration and Sessions:

Faculty of Arts: Aula - Arna Nováka 1

The roundtable and all sessions will be held in on Arna Novaka 1 in Aula (Faculty of Arts, building C, third floor, room C33/32)


To get to the buildings of Faculty of Arts:

From the Continental Hotel: Walk to Kounicova street in front of the hotel, turn right, cross the street and keep walking on Slovákova street. Cross Veveří street, turn left to Gorkého street and then turn right to Arna Nováka and follow the sighns to get to Aula (see the map).

From elsewhere:

Get to Česká street (a pedestrian zone in the centre and a tram connection point), from there keep walking along Joštova street pass the red-brick church, turn right behing the church and walk on to Jaselská street. Keep going straight to Arna Nováka and follow the signs to Aula (see the map).

 

 

Getting to Brno

  • By Air to Brno

Brno airport operates a limited number of international flights (e.g. Ryanair from/to London - Stansted). 

  • By Air to Vienna

There are direct bus connections from the airport in Vienna to Brno city-centre (departing Vienna airport at 8.05, 11.05, 18.05, 20.30 - travel time 2h 45min. Price: 16€ one way – see www.studentagency.eu). 

  • By Air to Bratislava

A good alternative is also to fly to Bratislava. Brno is only one and a half hour away by bus/train with relatively frequent connections.

  • By Air to Prague

Most cheap airlines fly to Prague. Czech airlines operate cheap flights for fixed end-prices (CZK 1390/55 €) to /from most European capitals (www.click4sky.cz).

There are direct buses from Prague airport to Brno city-centre every hour (from 6.35 until 19.35; travel time 4 hours. Price: 250 CZK (app. 10€), see www.studentagency.eu).

  • By Train / Bus

Brno is on the direct train line Hamburg-Vienna. It is also connected, via Břeclav, to the main line Vienna-Warsaw. For up-to-date connections (also international), see www.jizdnirady.cz.

  • Brno is well-connected to most European countries by very comfortable bus connections. The prices are quite reasonable (www.studentagency.eu)
