Recognition of Exams taken outside the Department of English and American Studies
Certificates must be presented 1 month before the exam date. They cannot be recognized after having failed the exam (i.e. grades such as "FU" or "FFU" are not possible).
Cambridge Exams
- CAE - Certificate in Advanced English
Grades A or B can be recognized as the following:
AJ11010/AJ41010 Proficiency Exam (end of 2nd year Bc.)
- Grades A or B will be recognized (final grade "U") - CPE - Certificate in Proficiency in English
Grades A, B or C can be recognized as the following:
AJ19999/AJ49999 Proficiency Exam – as part of Bachelor State Exam:
Certificates must be presented at least one month before the State Exam
- Grade A: 85 points (as part of Bc. exam evaluation) + pass English Language Oral Proficiency Exam (AJ11020) with the mark A, B or C.
- Grade B: 80 points (as part of Bc. exam evaluation) + pass English Language Oral Proficiency Exam (AJ11020) with the mark A, B or C.
- Grade C: 74,9 points (as part of Bc. exam evaluation) + pass English Language Oral Proficiency Exam (AJ11020) with the mark A, B or C.
AJ21110/AJ51000 a UZAJ1110 Proficiency Exam (end of 1st year M.A.):
- Only grades A or B will be recognized (final grade "U")
IELTS (International English Language Testing System) - Academic version only!
Grades 7 and above can be recognized as the following:
AJ11010/AJ41010 Proficiency Exam (for 2nd year Bc. students)
- Grades 7 and above will be recognized (final grade "U")
Grades 7.5 and above can be recognized as the following:
AJ19999/AJ49999 Proficiency Exam – as part of Bachelor State Exam
Certificates must be presented at least one month before the State Exam
- Grade 8.5: 85 points (as part of Bc. exam evaluation)
- Grade 8: 80 points (as part of Bc. exam evaluation)
- Grade 7.5: 75 points (as part of Bc. exam evaluation)
Grades 8 and above can be recognized as the following:
AJ21110/AJ51000 a UZAJ1110 Proficiency Exam (for 1st year M.A. students):
- Grades 8 and above will be recognized (final grade "U")
Note:
- AJ09999 Qualifying Examination cannot be substituted by any of the above mentioned certificates
- Students who want to have their certificates recognized can submit a standard subject recognition request or they can enrol in the subject and present their certificate to the study advisor at the Department of English and American Studies. However, they must do so before the end of term.
