The publication is mainly meant for bachelor’s degree, master’s degree and doctoral students at the Masaryk University’s Department of Educational Sciences as their study support. The chapters of which this book consists are focused on the qualitative approach to the research of the reality in educational sciences. Qualitative approach is defined as a process of investigation in phenomena and problems in authentic environment, striving to gain a comprehensive image of those phenomena, based on profound data and a specifi relation between the researcher and the research participant. Using a variety of procedures and methods, the intention of the researcher who carries out a qualitative research is to discover and represent how people understand, live and create social reality. The opening half of the publication is devoted to the methodology of qualitative research while the following part is composed of various qualitative research which was carried out in educational sciences.
