1/1 Dean’s Instruction No. 1/2014 FULFILMENT OF THE COMPULSORY MINIMUM LANGUAGE COMPETENCE FOR FOREIGN STUDENTS IN SPECIFIC SITUATION Section l This instruction regulates the conditions of fulfilment of the compulsory foreign language examination for foreign students who did not complete their study of two foreign languages in their secondary school curriculum in the scope that is standard for the Bologna area. Section 2 For the purposes of this instruction, a foreign language is defined as a so-called “world” language taught at the MU Language Centre, i.e. English, German, French, Spanish, or Russian. Section 3 In the cases described in Article 1, the Dean permits students to fulfil the minimum language competency requirement by successfully completing two semester-long courses in Czech for Foreigners: CJCFF01: 4 hours per week, 6 credits, concluded by examination CJCFF02: 4 hours per week, 6 credits, concluded by examination Section 4 The student applies to avail themselves of the conditions described in Article 3 by written application accompanied by an extract of the courses completed at secondary school, a secondary school diploma, or similar document. Section 5 The Dean entrusts the assessment of the above types of application and the interpretation of this instruction to the Vice-Dean for Bachelor’s and Master’s Studies.
