About the programme

The fund aims to connect the countries of the Visegrad Group (also known as the Visegrad Four or simply V4 - Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, and Poland). A necessary condition for the application is the involvement of at least three countries, ideally four. Further information is on the programm's homepage.

Only one grant per economic unit may be given (i.e. one for the FF MU). In the role of partner institutions, however, the involvement is not limited. Before applying for a grant, please check whether the faculty is already involved in a Visegrad programme.

Types of supported project

Small and Standard Grants

The deadline for grant submissions is the first of each quarter (1 March, 1 June, 1 September, 1 December), then the evaluation process takes place. The grant implementation is 12 months.

Applications are only submitted electronically via the online system, which is open one month before the deadline for grant submission.

The official language of the IVF is English, and budgets must be planned in EUR

The focus areas of the grants are:

  • Culture and common identity
  • Education and capacity building
  • Environment
  • Democratic values and the media
  • Public policy and institutional partnerships
  • Scientific exchange and research cooperation
  • Regional development, entrepreneurship and tourism
  • Social development

Strategic Grants (Visegrad Strategic Programme)

Strategic Grants are significant, long-term strategic projects involving institutions from all four Visegrad Group countries and must focus on the priorities set for the year in question.

Grants implementation is from 12 to 36 months (usually around EUR 30,000 per project). The IVF's financial contribution cannot exceed 70% of the total cost of implementing the project.
