About the programme

The Operational Programme Research, Development and Education (hereinafter referred to as the “OP RDE”) enables the financing of both research and educational infrastructure, and human resources (from pre-school education, through R&D projects, to participants in ). The OP RDE is supported by both the European Social Fund and the European Regional Development Fund. Support from the OP RDE is directed to all regions of the Czech Republic with different socio-economic levels.

The main objective of the OP RDE is the investment in the development of human potential, which is an important form of public investment. The vision of the MEYS is to contribute to a structural shift in the Czech Republic towards an economy based on an educated, motivated, and creative workforce, and on the production of high-quality research results.

The allocation of the OP RDE for the programming period 2014 – 2020 is EUR 2.77 billion (approx. CZK 73.2 billion).

The OP RDE is divided into three priority axes:

• PO1 – Strengthening capacities for high-quality research
• PO2 – Development of universities and human resources for research and development
• PO3 – Equal access to high-quality pre-primary, primary and secondary education

Main target groups supported:

• Research organization employees and researchers (doctoral students, postdoctoral students, foreign experts coming to MU)
• Academics and other university staff members
• Teaching staff in schools and educational establishments
• University students and prospective students, primary and secondary school students, including pupils and students with special educational needs and others

The specific targeting of project activities is very diverse, and is defined more precisely in the specific call.
