Masaryk University is entering the competition with a single application, in which individual faculties may participate. You can express your interest in participating in the faculty’s proposal by filling out the questionnaire below.

Supported Activities 

Departmental units may contribute to the faculty-level project application with proposals for:

the creation of datasets,
the development of software related to research data management—3 possible types:

1. expanding the functionality of repositories developed within the NRP or implementing them at the institutional level (software 1), 

2. integration of existing discipline-specific repositories into the NRP/NDI environment (software 2)

3. a tool for converting data and/or metadata, or support for such conversion (software 3)

These are smaller, short-term outputs (on the order of months of work by an individual or a small team). For datasets, implementation through “learning by doing” is supported. 

Financial Terms

The project uses simple (lump-sum) funding based on deliverables:

dataset: approximately 150,000 CZK,
software: approximately 200,000 CZK  

These amounts represent the maximum indicative funding per output. Costs are reported using lump-sum (one-time) amounts per output, rather than a detailed budget. At the same time, there is a co-funding requirement; the department covers 10% of the costs from its own resources.

Please fill out a separate form for each activity. Due to the limited budget at the Faculty of Arts, we will inform you on July 10, 2026, whether your proposal will be supported; if so, it will then be forwarded for further refinement.

Clarification of the Call Requirements

When preparing your proposal, we recommend using the available Open Science definitions and methodologies as a guide. The definition of a dataset is available in the OpenScience Glossary, as is an overview of the FAIR principles (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable), which the resulting data must meet. More detailed definitions and requirements are also provided in the document Rules for Applicants and Recipients – Specific Section (Open Science III Call), particularly in Chapter 5.7 (dataset and software specifications). The project proposal must also include a description of how it connects to the National Data Infrastructure (NDI)—that is, the environment for storing, managing, and sharing research data in the Czech Republic (briefly described, for example, in the Glossary or on the EOSC website: https://www.eosc.cz/o-nas/faq#NDI).
