The Technology Agency of the Czech Republic has announced the sixteenth public call for proposals under the SIGMA Program for the Support of Applied Research and Innovation – Sub-objective 4, Bilateral Cooperation. This program focuses on promoting international cooperation in applied research through joint projects between Czech entities supported by the TA ČR and foreign partners supported by international organizations. The main objective of the call for proposals is to increase the number of outputs and results in areas that hold promise for the future of the participating countries. Another objective of the public call is to support the transfer of international knowledge, the sharing of best practices, and to facilitate entry into foreign markets.

The project must always include, in addition to the Czech applicant, at least one foreign partner from the location where the foreign partner organization is based. The foreign partner must submit a complementary project proposal from one of the listed foreign organizations. The project proposal submitted by applicants on the Czech side will be supported by TA CR only if the complementary project proposal from the foreign partners is simultaneously approved by the foreign organization. These are entities from Germany, the Republic of Korea, and Taiwan. Each organization has specified areas that the project proposal must address. Project proposals must be submitted in English via the SISTA information system.
The maximum funding intensity per project is 75%.
Only a business may serve as the principal investigator, a research organization may act as a partner.
