Temporary limitation of EKV activities in February and March 2026

The Ethics Committee for Research (EKV) announces temporary capacity limitations from late February to early April 2026, during which it will focus exclusively on assessing projects submitted to GAČR, TAČR and AZV calls. Other requests will be processed with a delay. The Committee also reminds applicants of the recommended timeframes for submitting their requests.

EKV Activities in February/March 2026

Due to the overlap of grant-call deadlines for GAČR, TAČR and AZV, the Ethics Committee for Research at the Faculty (EKV) will, from the end of February until the beginning of April 2026, focus exclusively on assessing projects submitted to these calls. As a result, the assessment of all other requests will be extended.

For projects submitted to EKV by 10 February 2026, the assessment process will begin in February. Applicants may expect to receive potential comments from the Committee by the end of February. Finalisation of the assessment will, however, continue only after EKV completes the evaluations for GAČR and AZV, i.e., most likely in April 2026.
For requests submitted to EKV after 10 February 2026, the assessment process will begin only once the evaluations for GAČR and AZV calls have been completed. More precise timelines will be available after the official announcements of both calls and once the exact competition deadlines are known.

For TAČR SIGMA DC 3, EKV is accepting applications for project assessment until Monday, February 23, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. You can find more information directly on the EKV website.

Recommendations for Submitting EKV Requests

We recommend submitting Requests for EKV Assessment:

  • at least 6 weeks before the planned start of project implementation,
  • in the case of proposals submitted to grant agencies that do not require an ethics committee approval at the proposal stage, at least 4 weeks before the competition deadline.

The duration of the assessment is always individual and depends on:

  • the complexity and nature of the project,
  • the quality and completeness of the submitted materials,
  • the applicant’s responsiveness during the commenting process, if applicable.

Thank you for your understanding.
