Exposition: Pavlína Rozsypálková, Metamorphoses

  • 8 May – 14 June 2025
    8:00 AM – 8:00 PM
  • Galerie Edikula, FF MU, buildig C, Arna Nováka 1, Brno

Metamorphoses, transformations both natural and magical. Evolution, growth, decay, governed by the forces of nature and present in the world around us and within ourselves. Do you sense them? Do you feel attached to them? Or do you feel entirely disconnected and isolated from them?

The sculptures of female bodies by Pavlína Rozsypálková are wrapped in bark and grow from roots, merge into trunks, evoking mythical forest beings. They represent souls of trees, dryads, goddesses, and warriors, all embodiments of feminine energy, care and tenderness, as well as strength and passion.

This visually narrated story speaks of profound inner transformations, of the will and courage to face one's own shadows, and of returning to oneself through self-love and nature. It becomes a journey into the depths, not only of the individual but also of the collective consciousness which calls for a return to the natural rhythm of the world in today's hectic and sterilized age cut off from the fundamental cycles and creative forces of birth.

The exhibition and the accompanying programme, including a sculpture workshop, will be part of Brno Museum Night 2025. The evening will be hosted by the artist herself, with the support of the curators.

Curators: Petra Melicharová, Tereza Kučerová
