Münchhausen –⁠⁠⁠⁠⁠⁠ The Philosophical Theatre (faculty premiere)

Karl von Münchhausen returns from the University of Göttingen to his native Bodenwerder. Instead of an idyllic home, however, he finds his mother in apathy and a village gripped by an unknown disease – the so-called “Overgrowth”.

While Karl searches for logical causes and evidence, the locals have already found their answers. No one is sick in Bodenwerder. It is only when a person rebels that problems arise. Karl finds himself isolated among those who exchange care for blind devotion.

Is “Overgrowth” a real threat, or just the price of inner peace? In this psychological drama, the line between recovery and destruction is dangerously blurred.

But the deep roots are not burned by frost.
