Paleographic Club: one-day workshop

At the beginning of the spring semester 2025, the doctoral students of the Institute of Historical Auxiliary Sciences and Archives in cooperation with the Brno Student Section of the Czech Archival Society (BSS ČAS) are preparing a one-day workshop of the Palaeographical Club for the second time. Paleography, one of the auxiliary historical sciences, deals with the development of writing, various characters and abbreviations and is essential for anyone who works with historical sources and needs to read them correctly first. At Paleography Club meetings we read medieval and modern texts in Czech, German and Latin. We check each other's reading, correct and help each other to make it enjoyable and enriching for all. This workshop will also be in this spirit. The materials will be provided in electronic form so that each participant can open them on his/her own device, and they will also be projected on a whiteboard.
