Ricardo Lugo: Human Aspects in Cybersecurity
-
21 May 2025
4:00 PM – 7:00 PM - Room D22, Arna Nováka 1, Brno
As a part of the CyberSecPro project, this seminar on Human Factors in Cybersecurity (Ricardo Lugo, Østfold University College, Norway) examines the psychological, social, and organisational influences on security-related behaviour and decision-making. Participants will explore how human vulnerabilities are exploited by cyber attackers and how these risks can be addressed through a stronger understanding of communication, culture, and collaboration within organisations.
The CyberSecPro project, funded by the Digital Europe Programme, aims to address the cybersecurity skills gap in Europe by training both current and future IT professionals. Running from December 2022 to November 2025, the initiative brings together 15 higher education institutions and 13 security companies across 16 countries. With a €6.7 million EU co-funding, CyberSecPro is developing an agile, collaborative, and multimodal training programme. This includes at least 48 training modules designed to align academic curricula with industry needs, thereby enhancing the practical cybersecurity skills of the workforce. The project also focuses on creating best practice training models and providing certifications for students and professionals, ultimately supporting Europe's digital transformation and bolstering its cybersecurity capabilities.
