Silent Disco: The Beatles Edition

Everyone's heard it at some point: Sgt. Pepper is the greatest rock album of all time. But what if it's not? What if it's not even the best album by The Beatles? Revolver has always been in its shadow, but the musical revolution that most people credit to Pepper was brought about by Revolver a year earlier.

The Department of Musicology of the Faculty of Arts MU in cooperation with the FAINE café invites you to the thematic silent disco party on Wednesday 25 June 2025 at 4.00 p.m. in Building N on Janáček Square. We will start with a pre-recorded headphone talk with musical samples "Sergeant versus Revolver" prepared by musicologist Petr Mečkovský (in Czech). After that, the silent disco itself will break out - you can choose from the discography of The Beatles and two other mixes of dance music, oldies and rock'n'roll.

A cafe with customized thematic menu will be open throughout the event: would you like to sip a drink Here Comes the Sun? And how about a Strawberry Fields Forever dessert?

The contribution for the loaned headphones is voluntary, the refundable deposit is 200 CZK. There is a strict no-headphones policy outside the building and garden. There will be plenty of them, but if you want to make sure you get one, feel free to DM FAINE Instagram @fainecoffee and have it sorted.

The event is open to the public and takes place whatever the weather!
