Grant of Excellence awarded to Dr. Zbíral
Dr. Zbíral has been awarded the prestigious EXPRO grant of the Czech Science Foundation.
Next year, the city of Brno will be celebrating the 200th birthday of G. J. Mendel. Involved in the festivities will be Masaryk University, which recently began publishing the findings of a comprehensive research project focused on this ground-breaking scientist.
Forty graduates of doctoral programmes and their lecturers have recently accepted from Vice-rector for research and doctoral studies Šárka Popíšilová an award for excellent achievements in their doctoral studies at Masaryk University.

On Thursday, 18 November, twenty-one new associate professors personally accepted their appointment decrees.
On 22 November, MU moved to the yellow level on the traffic-light system. At nine faculties the deans decided that students must comply with the O-N-T (Vaccinated – Recovered – Tested).
Due to the worsening pandemic, the MU Crisis Committee has recommended the implementation of measures corresponding with those of the yellow level of the traffic-light system. They went into effect on Monday, 22 November.
Due to the deteriorating COVID-19 situation, the MU Emergency Committee has decided to move to the green level of the traffic-light system. New measures will go into effect on 25 October.
The village of Hrušky will use one million crowns collected by Masaryk University to replace the floors and repair the roof, windows, and facade of the local school, which was damaged in a tornado in June. MU rector Martin Bareš handed over an oversized cheque to village and school officials.
