Description Experiential and reflective learning is an educational concept that has formed very deep and strong roots in educational history. Since the 1930s it has been associated with relatively extensive development across many scientific disciplines. It can be generally defined as a process of learning in which people individually or in collaboration with others try to use targeted reflection and validation or transformation of experience to discover new opportunities that may not be evident from ordinary experience. People assign personal meaning to the newly acquired information with individual impact on their immediate reality and their functioning in it. This publication deepens the existing knowledge of this remarkable educational concept. Its ambition is not to create a detailed map of the 'landscape' of experiential and reflective learning; its aim is rather to focus attention on current events which in this lively area take place on several different levels and within a relatively diverse set of topics.
