Description	Nanoparticles are used more and more in a range of fields nowadays so it is necessary to characterize them and learn more about the potential risks for the human and the environment. The aim of this study was to detect and characterize gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) using substrate-assisted laser desorption inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (SALD ICP MS) as an alternative to nebulizer ICP MS.
