Description | The author of the present study deals with the novel by F. M. Dostoevsky Crime and Punishment (1866) and its reception in both Czech and Slovak literature of the interwar period. She pays attention to the novel The World Knows Nothing (1934) written by Czech prosaist Miloslav Nohejl and to novella Behind the Upper Mill (1926) by Slovak writer Milo Urban. The author compares these works according to their genre, motifs, characters, and also to the incipit, explicit, symbology hidden in works. |
