| Description | This book chapter addresses occupational diseases of the musculoskeletal system from the practical perspective. Many of these diseases arise from overloading and from working with vibrating tools and equipment. In the Czech Republic, following occupational medical investigation and subject to legislative conditions, diseases listed in the list of occupational diseases may be recognized as occupational diseases. Subsequently, patients may be compensated for health damage. The chapter categorizes the diseases according to the inducing risk factors. Specific examination and diagnostic procedures, as well as basic assessment principles, are explained for every disease. Finally, the chapter presents current data on the number of diseases and provides recommendations on how to proceed in case of a suspected occupational disease. |
