Description The aim of this study is to outline the state of awareness-raising legislation in Yugoslavia after 1929 and to describe which cultural-educational institutions were active in Belgrade during interwar period. This study also depicts which subjects played such an important role in cultural development of Belgrade and the whole country that they were regularly published in Czechoslovak-South Slavic revue, the magazine published in 1930s by Czachoslovak-Yugoslavian league which was also looking after development of mutual cultural relations during interwar period. The author of this study pays attention to Declaration of educational and cultural relations between Czechoslovakia and Yugoslavia which represents a significant landmark in terms of cultural connections. The author also presents some important educational and awareness-raising laws which had initiated development of cultural life in Yugoslavia. She also focuses on the most significant institutions, libraries, publishers and other organisers of public cultural life and education in Belgrade that were given the most space in the above mentioned magazine.
