Description In 2019, a short-term archaeological excavation was carried out on the sites Biel and Za Pivovarom, which are located in the area of the Biela skala hill fort in Podbiel, Tvrdošín District. The sites are referred to in literature as Hallstatt Period settlements, from which no archaeological finds were known so far. The archaeological excavation was preceded by geophysical survey. The features expected on the site Za Pivovarom have not been confirmed. This archaeological site was already destroyed by recent agricultural activity. New information has been found about the settlement on the site Biel (five settlement features discovered). Archaeological finds from this site can be dated to two phases: HD–LTA/LTB1 and LTB2/LTC–LTD. Several magnetometric anomalies have been verified in terrain – a burnt linear wooden structure/fortification (?) and probably a palisade/ fence at the terrain edge of the settlement.
