Description There are many unanswered questions in the history of the Czechoslovak Legion in Russia during the First World War. During the Second World War and later in the communist period, there was an effort in Czechoslovakia and Soviet Russia to forget and diminish the merits of the Czechoslovak legionnaires, the resistance, the creation of the Czechoslovak Army Corps and their contribution to the establishment and development of the new republic. In my contribution, I would like to reveal the hitherto unknown facts of the activities of the Czechoslovak legions in Russia and outline the place of the city of Ufa as the center of anti-Bolshevik forces in the anabasis of the Czechoslovak legion in Russia. The contribution will deal with the fall of the city of Ufa and the entry of Czechoslovak troops into the city in 1918, the consolidation of anti-Bolshevik forces and the formation of the National Army. I will outline the influence and mutual relations with the local population and cooperation with national units (Bashkirs, Poles). I will introduce the activities and operations of the Czechoslovak units in Ufa and the evacuation of Ufa at the end of 1918. I will present an overview of the Czechs living in Ufa and the Ufa Governorate since the beginning of the First World War.
