Description During the winter campaign in the Carpathians in 1914-1915, the Laborec Valley became a significant area of clashes between the Russian and Austro-Hungarian armies, and the front stabilized for a month (February-March 1915) near the Sukov village, among other places. The position on the Cingov hill was held by the Prague 8th Landwehr Infantery Regiment (LIR 8), which was later largely captured there during a surprise attack by the Russians. The aim of the research was to use geophysical survey and detector prospecting to locate the course of the trench line, which was placed in a tactically disadvantageous position in an unforested area, where the remains of the trenches were not preserved due to agricultural activities. In contrast, the enemy positions on the nearby forested hill are still visible in the terrain. Although the measurement did not directly show the body of the trench, it was possible to detect a line of concentrated magnetic signals, which most likely indicate a trench line full of metal artifacts, such as fragments of artillery ammunition.
