| Description | This paper examines a phonological change attested in Old Czech, i.e., the shift from trapped to syllabic liquids. Based on a corpus study, we identify two diachronic stages in this change, each involving one type of morphological disjunction. We explain the observed timeline using Strict CV representations, licensing scales, and cyclic derivation. |
