| Description | As part of the series of lectures 'Teaching and Learning about the Holocaust: Migration Education and Postcolonial Perspectives in the Context of German as a Second and Foreign Language', Dr Renate Riedner held a discussion with playwright Sivan Ben Yishai on 13 June 2025. Based on excerpts from Ben Yishai's play "Wounds Are Forever (Self-Portrait as National Poet) (2020)", the two discuss, among other things, how the play unfolds as a complex space in which memories and discourses - usually seen as separate from one another - dynamically interact with each. The Shoah reveals as a history of violence that continues to this day - not least in the discursive triangle of Germany, Israel and Palestine. |
