Citation
Description Emperor Sigismund (1368–1437) had to deal with different court structures and traditions in the Holy Roman Empire, Hungary, and Bohemia. This book examines his impressive achievements in integration from four perspectives: the court as 1) the epicenter of power, 2) a stage for international diplomacy, 3) the intersection between institution and social interaction, and 4) a breeding ground for careers. This involves considering categories such as “proximity,” “trust,” and “strangeness,” as well as integrating approaches from ritual studies, diplomatic history, and network analysis.
