Description The paper focuses on an analysis of the speech of a sample of 20 first-year students who participated in practical instruction aimed at the prosodic realization of Standard Chinese. Speech produced before and after completion of the course is compared; the course places emphasis on correct sentence segmentation, stress, intonation, and rhythm. A native speaker is used to evaluate the quality of the realization.
