Description This chapter focuses on the possibilities currently offered by cognitive science approaches to the analysis of theatrical performances. It is based on several years of research by the author and deals with the issue of the creation and perception of meaning, including the role of emotions and embodied cognition. It examines the process of meaning creation and perception, with the author, in line with current theoretical approaches, assuming that meaning is not fixed but dynamically constructed over time. The chapter specifically addresses the possibilities offered by the musicology-oriented theory of "multilevel grounding" by Serbian cognitive linguist Mihailo Antović.
