| Description | Prof. Milan Kopecký, DrSc., was one of the most prominent representatives of the field of early Czech literature. His bibliography contains almost 600 items, including 20 book publications. He also gained prestige abroad, where he lectured mainly in Germany, Italy and Norway. He supervised hundreds of diploma theses, dozens of rigoroses and habilitations. For 19 years he was the head of the Department of Czech Literature and Literary Studies, for seven years he headed the Faculty of Arts as vice-dean and dean. The exhibition was presented as the story of a university worker with an emphasis on his professional growth and pedagogical focus against the background of a complex historical period, the development of which is captured in parallel in the form of photographs and letters (a total of 42 images). Due to the importance of Kopecky's personality, the Mayor of the City of Brno JUDr. Markéta Vaňková took over the sponsorship of Milan Kopecky's 100th anniversary event. The memorial conference took place on the premises of the dean's office on 5/14/2025. |
