| Description | Our corpus study aims to analyze the case homonymy of possessive adjectives in Czech. We focused on two-word forms in vocative (the construction of a possessive adjective followed by a noun or a noun followed by a possessive adjective: Minervin[ao] zrado / zrado Minervin[ao]). We examined the use of this construction in the case of both depropriative and deapelative possessives. The following questions are to be answered: a) How can syncretism/homonymy be interpreted linguistically? b) Can syncretism/homonymy be influenced by the order of the words examined? c) Is the use of non-syncretic forms related to the gender of the developed noun? and d) What does disambiguation look like? |
