| Description | This study addresses the high levels of anxiety and perceived irrelevance often associated with traditional teacher education research courses by introducing an interactive, experiential approach at Masaryk University. Drawing on feminist pedagogy and compassionate research, the course utilizes handwritten journaling to bridge the gap between personal emotion and academic reason, allowing students to analyze their own lives as primary data. Through a multi-method evaluation of 142 students—including questionnaires, observations, and reflection analysis—the findings indicate that this decentralized, facilitator-led model effectively reduces research-related anxiety and fosters a sense of professional solidarity. By prioritizing empathy and collective inquiry over abstract theory, the course demonstrates that integrating emotional engagement into scientific methodology not only makes research more accessible but also equips future teachers with practical, evidence-based tools for their careers and everyday lives. |
