| Description | This study examines articles, lectures, prefaces to exhibition catalogs, introductions to various works, open letters from 1935 to 1951, and other texts that André Breton first published in 1953 as *La Clé des Champs* through the publishing house Le Sagittaire. It provides a historical contextualization of the texts, including biographical aspects of the author’s life that had a fundamental influence on their creation, but above all on their reception. The study also examines the extensive secondary literature written about A. Breton’s work, as well as the relationships between Czech and French Surrealists. At the same time, it attempts a thematic study that does not overlook the political and socially engaged dimension of Breton’s essays and articles. |
