| Description | The name of Brno native Kurt Gödel (1906-1978) is well known to today's mathematicians, physicists, computer scientists, and logicians, also thanks to the Kurt Gödel Societies: Vienna (founded 1987) and Brno (founded 1992). In the lecture, we will clarify and specify issues related to Gödel's results, especially the first and second incompleteness theorems, as well as his personal life. Both are surrounded by myths, on which we will try to shed new light. |
