| Description | The results of new research, particularly in the area of the so-called castle garden in the northwestern part of the castle, have fundamentally changed our understanding of the earliest form of Bítov Castle and its earliest architectural development. This primarily concerns the period of construction of the northwestern corner tower, the adjacent perimeter walls, and, indirectly, the large corner towers. This paper briefly presents the findings to date and reflects on the origins of the oldest castle towers in Moravia. |
