Description The topic of emigration in Spanish literature is very common, because particulary during the 20th century Spain was a country of emigrants. Up to the seventies North was a synonym not only for a prosperous country, but also for a liberal society free of puritan norms, so different from the traditional Spanish society. Today the situation is quite different. Spais is converted into a dreamed North for emigrants from Latin America, Africa and Asia. It is interesting to follow the ways in which the topic is projected into literary works in different periods.
