The current faculty management, headed by Dean Irena Radová, will end its term in March 2026. The Academic Senate has therefore set a schedule for the election of the dean for the upcoming term. At its meeting on September 22, 2025, the senators also debated the future setting of budgetary rules at FF MU, commented on the accreditation of study programs, and approved the conditions for the admission procedure for the 2026/2027 academic year.
The Senate Electoral and Mandate Committee has prepared the following schedule, which has been approved by the plenary session of the Academic Senate:
From the announcement of the elections on October 20, candidates will be able to register until the end of November. After that, a discussion forum will be opened, where the entire academic community will have the opportunity to debate with the registered candidates. The debates with the candidates for the position of dean and their teams will culminate at the Senate meeting on December 8 and, above all, at the public faculty-wide assembly on December 15, 2025.
The new leadership will face a number of challenges. One of them, in the form of setting budgetary rules, was also discussed by senators at their last meeting, when the Senate Chair described the current budgeting model as unsustainable in the long term. It can be expected that the debates will continue at future meetings of the Academic Senate.
The Academic Senate also recommended that the Scientific Board of the Faculty of Arts at Masaryk University approve the extension of accreditation for the study programs Dutch Language, Literature, and Culture (Bachelor's) and Museology (Master's) and grant the request to establish a new study program in Education Management (Master's).
The detailed proceedings of the Senate meeting were recorded in the minutes.
The next meeting will take place on 20 October 2025.
In addition to evacuation, the exercise also included sending out warning text messages.
