What will you learn?
Management in Education is a follow-up master's program to the bachelor's program in Pedagogy at the Institute of Educational Sciences. The aim of the program is to deepen and further develop a comprehensive set of knowledge and skills that are key to the effective analysis, management, and leadership of educational processes in both the public and private sectors at various organizational levels. The program emphasizes the interconnection of knowledge in the fields of learning theory, educational policy, and other pedagogical sciences with knowledge in management, economics, and law. The result is the development of competencies necessary for the systematic analysis and management of education in diverse social contexts. Graduates of the program are able to identify the educational needs of all age groups. Based on the data obtained, they are prepared to plan and organize individual educational projects as well as entire study programs. The program also includes the development of competencies in the use of digital technologies in education, from the creation of e-learning support to learning analytics on digital platforms. Graduates of the Management in Education program therefore have a wide range of career opportunities. They work as project managers, education system analysts, experts, and coordinators of strategic education policy programs at the regional, national, and supranational levels.
Practical training
Students participate in projects run by the National Pedagogical Institute, the Educational Institute for Moravia, Vysočina Education, and others. Cooperation also takes place with education departments at municipal authorities (e.g., Brno, Jihlava, etc.) and, to some extent, with authorities in the South Moravian Region.
The study plan includes 100 hours of compulsory practical training, which students complete during their studies. The practical training includes both direct work in a selected institution or organization and reflective tasks that students complete and present during the practical training.
The practical training contributes significantly to the fulfillment of learning outcomes, in particular outcomes 2, 3, and 7. During the practical training, students analyze educational needs and, based on this analysis, participate in conceptual work such as the preparation of educational events or entire programs. They are involved in the creation of human resource development concepts, familiarize themselves with specific projects, and participate in data analysis.
