Basic information
G24 is a lecture hall situated on the second floor of Building G.
Lecture halls are characterised by a large capacity, pitched floor, which ensures good visibility even with a large number of attendees. In addition to lectures for a larger number of students, they are also suitable for conferences, guest lectures or faculty events for the public.
The classroom is equipped with microphones that can be used both for recording and for amplifying the lecturer's voice (the sound from the microphones is transmitted to the speakers in the room).
Projection possibilities
A standard projector is available for projecting multimedia content.
You can present images and sound from a PC located on the desk and also from your own laptop connected via the HDMI or USB-C connector. Connecting cables and electrical sockets are located under the metal cover at the top of the desk.
The classroom also allows you to wirelessly project video and audio from your own device. Most common operating systems are supported (Windows, Android, macOS, iOS). This means you can present content from your device without being tied to a single spot in the classroom, and you can also let your students present. To use this feature, press the Bezdrátová projekce button on the control panel and follow the instructions on the projection screen.
Recording of lectures
In the lecture room, you can use the lecture recording device, which allows you to easily record your lecture. To make a recording, log in to the PC and press the Record button on the control panel – pressing the button again will end the recording.
The recording contains both the image from the camera in the room and the image projected through projector. You can pre-check it using the OBS Studio icon on the PC desktop.
You can find the finished recording in your personal category in the Faculty Media Library, you will also be informed via e-mail about the processing of the recording.
You have two cameras at your disposal: the rear camera primarily captures the lecturer, while the front camera captures the students in the room. You can enable automatic speaker tracking (autotracking) for individual cameras. The rear camera identifies the speaker visually (focusing on the image of the person at the front of the room), while the front camera identifies the speaker acoustically (focusing on the source of the sound).
Sound is captured by a microphone array that picks up sound from the entire room. The microphone does not need to be switched on or adjusted.
If you want to amplify the teacher's voice in the room, you can use the handheld microphone located in the desk. Open the desk cabinet by attaching a chip card to the sensor on the side of the cabinet or using a key. A description of how to operate the lapel microphone can be found on the instructions tab or in the printed instructions in the classroom.
Hybrid teaching
The recording cameras and microphone array can also be used in video conferencing applications, typically for hybrid learning purposes. Follow the printed instructions in the classroom to properly set up the equipment in a videoconferencing application.
You can view the remote participants on the rear preview screen (TV button on the control panel) so that you can see them at the same time as the learners in the classroom. The preview screen functions as a second computer monitor, so you can simply drag the video conference window onto it (or use the shortcut Win + SHIFT + right/left arrow). You can drag any other content onto the rear screen in the same way.

Access to the classroom
You can unlock the classroom with a key, which you can obtain at the reception desk. Please remember to lock the classroom again after class.
Microphones
The classroom is equipped with microphones that can be used for recording or streaming lectures, as well as for hybrid teaching and video conferencing. The entire classroom is covered by a microphone array, which we recommend using, but if necessary, you will also find external microphones stored in the department.

Recording of lectures
To record a lecture, press the Záznam/Record button on the control panel. If the button turns red, recording is in progress. Press the button again to stop recording.
Before starting recording, we recommend checking the preview using the OBS Studio icon on your computer desktop.

Streaming
Lecture in the classroom can also be streamed, i.e. broadcast live on the internet. There are two options available.
The stream in Medial is set up by E-learning office staff at a pre-arranged time. It is necessary to request this well in advance, but it does not need to be set up and started directly in the classroom. More detailed information can be found in the Medial documentation.
Streaming using OBS Studio can be broadcast on common platforms such as Facebook, YouTube, or Twitch. The user sets it up themselves on a computer in the classroom. You can follow the instructions for streaming outside of Medial.
