The Programme of Study in Philosophy at the Faculty of Arts in Masaryk University (for foreign students)

Study of philosophy for foreign students is suggested as two-degree study with both the degree of Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) and the degree of Master of Arts (M.A.). It is possible to study for these degrees separately - the graduates of B. A. studies do not need to continue in studies for the degree of M.A. and the graduates of B.A. studies in Philosophy from other universities can be accepted to the study for the degree of M.A. The study is managed in the Czech language, after the agreement with the readers and lecturers it is possible to read lectures and lead seminars in world languages.

Study programme:

B.A. studies:

It takes six terms (three years). After the first year the undergraduates are due to pass qualifying examination from the History of Ancient Philosophy and from the History of Ontological Theories. The study is finished by Bachelor Examination, the part of which is the defence of Bachelor Thesis. The undergraduates may pass the Bachelor Examination after acquiring of the prescribed number of credits.
