The current issue is mostly dedicated to language and literature in the colonial Mexico (section “Dossier thématique”). Linguistic papers pay attention to phenomena of language change that were taking place at that time in the Mexican Spanish; especially significant is the paper written by Professor Concepción Company, dedicated to periodization of Mexican Spanish. Literary oriented papers focus on Baroque poetry in colonial Mexico, on cultural aspects of colonial society and their reflection in literature. The issue is supplemented by one paper in Études section and by reviews on current publications from Italian applied linguistics and language historiography (section Comptes rendus). All papers and reviews come from foreign contributors and they are written in Spanish, French and Italian. |
