The new issue of the journal Études romanes de Brno brings a thematic section „El léxico de la medicina en la historia del español“, which deals with the history of medical and pharmacological terminology in Spanish, especially in Latin American varieties in the 18th and 19th centuries. The articles in the Études section deal with selected topics in contemporary Spanish, Portuguese, Catalan, and French linguistics, as well as some grammatical phenomena in older varieties of Italian and French. The issue concludes with reviews of recently published publications on Spanish linguistics and French and Italian literary history. All articles are written in Romance languages, namely in Spanish, French, Portuguese, Italian, and Catalan, and come mainly from foreign authors. |
