Rooms for conference participants have been provisionally reserved at the following hotels:

Rooms at these hotels have been provisionally reserved until 29 September 2025. Participants are kindly asked to make their own reservations using the contact information provided above and to mention that they are attending the conference “Christological Motifs in Song Culture”. At Hotel Passage, please also use the password “Brno” when booking. Participants are responsible for covering their own accommodation expenses. All hotels offer convenient access to the Faculty of Arts.

Of course, participants may also choose from other accommodation options in Brno (e.g., via booking.com). We strongly encourage early booking, as Brno hosts several large events in the autumn, which may lead to limited hotel availability.

Arrival Information

Travelling from Vienna or Prague

There are regular train connections between Vienna and Brno, approximately every one or two hours (https://www.cd.cz/en/spojeni-a-jizdenka/). Bus services are also available from companies such as RegioJet or FlixBus.

From Prague, direct trains run to Brno every 30 minutes. We recommend using EC- or IC-category trains for the fastest connection. Bus transport is also available via providers like RegioJet, FlixBus, and others.

All trains and buses arrive at Brno Main Station (Hlavní nádraží). For getting to the faculty from there, take tram no. 12 (direction Technologický park) to the stop Grohova. The journey takes about 7 minutes. You can easily buy a ticket directly on the tram – just tap your payment card on one of the machines (there are several in each carriage). From Brno Airport

A direct E76 bus runs from Brno Airport to the city center (Main Station). The journey takes approximately 17 minutes. At the Main Station, transfer to tram no. 12 (direction Technologický park) and get off at Grohova. Tram travel time is about 7 minutes. You can easily buy a ticket directly on the bus and tram – just tap your payment card on one of the machines (there are several in each carriage).

Public Transport Tickets

From the Airport

For the entire journey from the airport to the conference venue, you need a 60-minute ticket. You can pay by card directly in the tram or bus. Just tap your card on the yellow validator on board – no buttons, no printed ticket needed. If you transfer, the ticket is valid for 60 minutes from the first tap.

During your stay, for tram rides:

• If the journey is under 15 minutes, tap your card again when exiting – you'll be charged less.
• Under 15 minutes: 20 CZK (~€0.81)
• Over 15 minutes: 25 CZK (~€1.01)
• The daily fare cap is 90 CZK (~€3.65).

If you prefer not to use a card, you can buy a ticket with coins at yellow ticket machines on the stops, or at newspaper stands. Alternatively, you can buy one from the driver (for 35 CZK) – exact change recommended. Don’t forget to validate paper tickets after boarding.

From Brno Main Station

Take tram no. 12 (direction Technologický park). Ride time is about 7 minutes, get off at Grohova.

You can pay by card in the tram – just tap the card at the yellow validator. Since the ride is under 15 minutes, tap again when exiting to be charged only 20 CZK (~€0.81).

For transfers, the 60-minute rule applies from the first tap. Tickets can also be bought for cash (coins) at stop machines or newsstands. A 15-minute ticket for 20 CZK is sufficient for this journey. You can also buy a ticket from the driver for 35 CZK, but have the exact amount ready. Paper tickets must be validated after boarding.

Walking

If you prefer walking, the journey from Brno Main Station to the faculty takes approximately 20 minutes.
