Popis | This article offers for discussion new etymologies of four Greek tree-names, amygdaléa "almond-tree", eri:neós "wild fig-tree", kerasós "bird-cherry", onkhne: "pear-tree", usually classified as substratal or foreign. The aim of these new solutions is to determine donor-languages as old cultural languages from the Eastern Mediterranean, namely Semitic and Hurrian, but also North Caucasian. |
