Popis The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between sense of coherence (SOC) and the components of self-concept (self-efficacy, self-esteem and self-concept clarity) on the one hand and the aspects of emerging adulthood (EA) on the other. The research sample consisted of 204 university students aged 18 to 27 years, 70.6 % female and 29.4 % male. Data were collected using the Sense of Coherence Scale, Inventory of Dimensions of Emerging Adulthood, Generalized Self-Efficacy Scale, Rosenberg’s Self-Esteem Scale and Self-Concept Clarity Scale. The results showed that all the three components of self-concept had significant positive and medium strong relations to the EA dimensions. We also found a significant link between SOC and the following dimensions of emerging adulthood: instability, self-focus, feeling “in-between” and “possibilities”. These results invite further research into the relationships between EA and health-promoting behaviour.
