Popis The research of the storage pits initially focused on the specific findings of human burials in relation to their possible ritual significance. Only in the course of the emergence of economic questions and the formative processes of archaeological contexts did the questions arise about the primary function of this group of findings. At the same time, the reservoirs - underground silos - are one of the few representatives of prehistoric settlement objects whose primary function can be reconstructed. The storage function of this type of settlement objects can be provided on the basis of formal criteria (typical shape and dimensions) and is confirmed by sediment studies using methods of archaeobotany or micromorphology. An essential part of the filling and the artifacts contained has nothing to do with the original function of the storage pits. This can be demonstrated by a detailed analysis of the deposition history of the founds. Underground silos, in particular their amount, spatial position and relationship to the house floor plans, allow a spatial reconstruction of the settlement structure. We would like to present this on the basis of settlement sample of the Bronze Age in Moravia.
